Het Zwin is a tidal area. Het Zwin is a tidal area. Twice a day, the water from the sea flows in via a large channel. Twice a month there is a spring tide; then Earth, Moon, and Sun are in line, which makes the water much higher at high tide and lower at low tide. Via the Zwin Natuur Park you can take a safe walk and experience this unique phenomenon!
