Spotting birds of prey in the Uitkerkse Polder

Are you on holiday at the coast and do you want to enjoy the typical meadow landscape in the polders in addition to the beach? Then head down to the Uitkerkse Polder for a beautiful bike ride via Zuienkerke, Nieuwmunster, and the Kleiputten van Wenduine. Dit Europees Natura 2000 nature reserve of 1400 ha can be found between Blankenberge, Wenduine, and Zuienkerke, in the province of West Flanders. In the meantime, Natuurpunt has been managing 650 ha of meadow bird reserve here. It is the most important meadow bird area in Flanders, both in summer and winter. From the bird-watching huts or from the observation tower, you can quietly watch the birds. During the bike ride, we will visit recent development works. New depressions were dug and a meadow bird fence was placed to protect birds such as the black-tailed godwit and the pied avocet. 📌 USEFUL TIPS FOR PARTICIPANTS 👕 Dress in layers.
