In this gripping performance organized by Ivan Saenen in collaboration with Rijschool Hendriks, the choices we make and the consequences that follow are central. Slachtoffer Michael Ghysels testifies about how he learned to live with the consequences of an accident and shows in an impressive way what resilience and perseverance mean. In addition, Stef Vanlee, a relief worker working in the trauma center of the UZA, shares his experiences from the front row. His testimonies make clear what human dramas hide daily behind traffic accidents. The performance is reinforced by emotional video images with stories of survivors and those who caused accidents. Together they bring a poignant message about traffic safety, responsibility, and the impact of our choices. Without moralizing, this performance invites self-reflection and awareness, with one clear message: “It won’t happen to me” is often the first step to an accident.
