DJ Krush is a pioneer of trip-hop and abstract hip hop, renowned for his dark, heavyweight sound and enduring impact on the global scene. DJ Krush is an influential Japanese DJ and producer who started his solo career in the early 90s and became known worldwide through the label Mo’ Wax. He is considered a pioneer in the trip-hop and abstract hip-hop scene, with a characteristic style of heavy, dark beats. As a remixer, DJ Krush has worked with Herbie Hancock, k.d. lang, and Ronnie Jordan, and contributed to projects by, among others, Miles Davis, Black Thought, Galliano, Pete Rock, and Coldcut, transcending genres and boundaries. With performances in more than 60 countries, including passages at festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Sonar, and Roskilde, he remains a staple in the scene. In 2024, he released the album Saisei – 再生 – and once again confirmed his status as one of Japan's most respected artists.
