Koninklijk Poppentoneel Festival is performing its own work this year during the Gentse Feesten. The story of Pierke en de Gelukster begins the moment Pierke picks up the texts for the weekly magazine's horoscope. The astronomer looks into the stars for a moment and predicts a wonderful future for Pierke. At an unguarded moment, Pierke peeks through the telescope himself and promptly sees a star falling. De Gelukster Aurora takes him to the East. Our folk hero has to do a good deed there! Voor Pierke it is a piece of cake, he likes to help where he can. Tijdens de Gentse Feesten you can also get to know the craft of making puppets better. An educational stand, with all kinds of materials and expert explanation, is included. All puppets and sets are homemade. And for the curious, a look behind the scenes can be taken upon simple request. The company likes to spread and keep the Ghent cultural living heritage alive.
