OKAPI - Klankennest

OKAPI is an interactive, musical performance for the very youngest, an ever-changing and meandering landscape molded from sound, movement, and clay. For their latest creation, Klankennest was inspired by early baroque music, the sound, the texture, and the endless play possibilities of clay. Sounds and visual aspects are formed by unique clay sculptures that were made especially for this performance. They are benchmarks in a landscape of natural clay that constantly changes in sound and appearance through playful manipulation by performers and the audience. The stage, in the form of a lemniscate, supports that thought of infinite transformation: sound and movement flow without boundaries, like an echo of the endless way of playing and exploring. Just like the animal - graceful and playful, familiar and mysterious - the performance builds a bridge between worlds: OKAPI takes the audience on a journey along old and new music, familiar and innovative instruments, structure and freedom... An invitation to play and explore endlessly.
