JazzLab - Matthias Van den Brande Trio feat. Jean-Paul Estievenart, Fields of Color

Start : 8:00 PM Voor Fields of Color saxophonist Matthias Van den Brande is inspired by the work of the American painter Mark Rothko. Just as Rothko evokes an intense spirituality with light, color, and composition, Van den Brande explores a rich spectrum of sounds, emotions, and imagination with his music. Together with his regular trio and the acclaimed trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart, he creates layered soundscapes in which every note feels like a brushstroke on an imaginary canvas. The result is a compelling musical experience that blurs the boundaries between visual art and jazz. Fields of Color is an ode to the power of art and an invitation to explore the depths of the human experience through the universal language of music. The album of the same name was released in the spring of 2025 by the renowned Spanish label Fresh Sound New Talent Records and was enthusiastically received both nationally and internationally.
