Rachel Perfecto starts her concert with compositions for carillon; she continues her performance with transcriptions of classical music. Then follows a section with film music and she concludes with Evergreens. Rachel comes from New York and studied music at Yale University, where she first got to know the carillon. Thanks to a scholarship from the Belgian American Educational Foundation, Rachel came to Belgium to study at the Koninklijke Beiaarschool 'Jef Denyn'; she graduated in 2016 with the highest distinction. As a carillonneur, she has a passion for arranging for the carillon. As a final project at the carillon school, she wrote a manual about this, which she later expanded into an online platform: www.arrangingforcarillon.com . In addition to her carillon studies, Rachel obtained master's degrees in musicology (KU Leuven) and choral conducting (Conservatorium van Antwerpen), where she also studied orchestral conducting with Ivo Venkov. Rachel is the conductor of several choirs and works as the head librarian of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
