dOFt - POR

Two opposites poke each other out of their familiar walls. Theater maker Jonas Vermeulen and choreographer and circus theater maker Piet Van Dycke bring dance, acrobatics and text together in ‘POR’, a humorous and playful dance theater performance. In ‘POR’, past and future meet in the now. Two living rooms revolve around their axis. In one room, a boy tries to find his place among the moving boxes. The other room is the home of an older woman who surrounds herself with precious memories. Both look in a different direction: the boy dreams ahead, the woman looks back. But neither of them really takes a step. Gradually they discover that there is more than their own living world. Routine gives way to curiosity and without realizing it, these two opposites poke each other out of their familiar walls. ‘POR’ shows a unique clash and fusion of generations, in which memories and dreams eventually give way to the power of the here and now. A gentle, moving dance and circus theater performance about the difference in clock and (lived) time.
