He creates a harmonious mix of Niger River blues, traditional Songhai themes, and Western elements. Often he brings wonderful, mild, and swaying grooves, sometimes he opts for a more powerful blues rock vibe, but it is always infectious. Samba Touré honors his great hero Ali Farka Touré this year, the pivotal figure in the adaptation of Malinese traditional music into the globally celebrated desert blues. Samba Touré based his electric guitar playing entirely on that of his older compatriot and remains faithful to his artistry.
