ANTE Festival: The Ixelles cemetery and its funerary heritage

As part of the ANTE Festival, we offer you a tour on neoclassical funerary heritage. The Ixelles Cemetery, created in 1877, offers us very fine examples of neoclassical architecture among the cemeteries of Région Bruxelloise. Numerous funerary monuments refer to the architecture of Rome Antique. We will discover their characteristics in terms of dimensions, materials, bas-reliefs, ornamentations, symbolism, etc., as well as their architectural evolution over the past 150 years.
