FILM EVENING – “MARINA”
Italy 1948. 10-year-old Rocco grows up in a beautiful but poor mountain village in Calabria, until one day his father decides to look for a better future for his family. He leaves for Belgium to earn money in the coal mines, and then to return to his native country. But soon he has his family come over and so young Rocco becomes a migrant from one day to the next. The gray mining region in Limburg, the icy winters, the racism, and the strange language and culture are a damper on the little boy's joy of life. Rocco wants to be like the other children and become someone and mean something in life.
