Cycling tour: Discovering art in the Grensleie

The cities of Menen and Wervik have a rich tradition in the field of visual arts. No fewer than 100 works of art adorn the public space. In the streetscape, on squares, and in or around public buildings, we find both abstract and figurative sculptures. Sometimes they are prominently displayed, sometimes they are somewhat hidden among the greenery. In recent years, Menen and Wervik have also discovered graffiti art. Colorful murals decorate the facades of homes and public buildings. During this varied bicycle tour, we will discover dozens of works of art by, among others, Wim Delvoye, Carll Cneut, Johan Tahon, Henk Delabie, Jan Desmarets, Stephan Balkenhol, Nick Ervinck, Huib Hoste, and Yvonne Serruys. We will not only cycle through the centers of Menen, Geluwe, and Wervik, but also along picturesque roads and the banks of the Leie river.
