Béguinage Organ Festival: Marie Petit

Thu, 10 Sept 2026 · 18:00
Eglise Saint-Jean-Baptiste-Au-Béguinage, Brussels
Free
Marie Petit, titular organist in Philippeville, shone by obtaining her Master's degree in organ with great distinction at LUCA School of Arts (Lemmens campus, Leuven), under the direction of Luc Ponet. At the same time, she successfully managed management engineering studies at KU Leuven, where she graduated in June 2021. Today, she is preparing a doctorate there within the Production and Logistics research group. A path as rare as it is impressive, which brilliantly unites musical passion and academic excellence. For her first major concert in Brussels, Marie Petit proposes a recital entitled “Soli Deo Gloria”, a musical journey from Bach to Mendelssohn. The program will notably highlight the Pie Jesu de Joseph Jongen, before culminating in a monumental work: the Te Deum op. 11 by Jeanne Demessieux (1921–1968), this illustrious French organist who was for many years professor of organ at the Conservatoire de Liège. A unique opportunity to discover an exceptional artist on the magnificent organ of the Béguinage.
