Heritage in Baasrode and Dendermonde

A stone's throw from each other, Baasrode and Dendermonde are ready to receive us. We will stare in Baasrode with a visit to the lively heritage site about shipbuilding and inland navigation. From the dry docks with its historic ships and the workshop of Van Praet-Dansaert to the master's house and the Shipping Museum, we get to see it all. Afterwards, we discover Dendermonde as a fortified city. An imposing Barracks, the city gates, bastions, bombproof arsenals and warehouses... they are just a few silent witnesses of a turbulent history that we encounter during this themed walk.
