Feydeau, room 21

We are in 1920. In room 21 of a psychiatric hospital in Paris, Georges Feydeau, one of the greatest authors of vaudevilles, is interned. No, this is not a farce, the greatest of vaudevillians ended his life insane! It didn't take more for two Olybrius, taking up the codes of the genre, to seize this tragi-comic situation to create a real… vaudeville based on historical reality. Locked in room 21, Feydeau cannot help but transform doctors and nurses into grand-guignolesque characters of a play of which he is this time the hero. And here are the spectators press-ganged into an implacable mechanism, where misunderstandings and slamming doors follow one another at a frantic pace. The famous room becomes the nerve center of all disorders, and, by the magic of the theater, transforms into a hotel where everyone tries to hide their intentions: lovers, spouses, servants, and guests cross paths and get tangled up until total confusion. A burlesque and virtuoso comedy, with lively dialogues, where everything is told “in the manner of Feydeau.” A comedy that unfolds all the art of laughter, precision, and perfectly orchestrated chaos.
