Hommelwandeling Polygoonbos

We are going in search of bumblebees together. On this walk, you will get to know our fluffiest wild bees and learn a lot about their way of life and relationship with certain plants. We walk through the Polygoonbos where conifers and deciduous trees alternate. You will also find a small plot of alder spring forest: a valuable wet forest with nutrient-poor spring water. And in some zones, the large and wet heath is being restored. You probably already knew that bumblebees are important pollinating insects, but had you heard of long-tongues and short-tongues? We will also teach you how to recognize the different species of bumblebees: the red-tailed bumblebee, common carder bee, or tree bumblebee will no longer be a mystery to you ... and who knows, we might even see a rarer species!
