In Cinematic Voices , pianist Daniel Verstappen , violist Marina Barskaya , and the Bulgarian choir Bulgapeya join forces in a program that balances between cinematic film music and ancient vocal traditions. This is not a traditional classical concert, but a continuous musical story in which piano, viola, and vocals merge into one intense, layered, and emotionally charged listening experience. The program builds on the successful collaboration previously heard at De Munt in Brussels , with music by iconic composers such as Ennio Morricone , Hans Zimmer , and Karl Jenkins , interwoven with traditional Bulgarian chants. In recent years, this ensemble has built a strong artistic path, with concerts at AMUZ , Handelsbeurs , De Munt and De Beurs in Brussels, as well as at the Stadhuis Brussel on the occasion of the Bulgarian National Day in 2024. This concert reflects that shared journey: a refined afternoon performance, shaped by experience, trust, and a shared musical language between East and West. No separate pieces, but one continuous story — cinematic, intense, and deeply human. Pianist and composer Daniel Verstappen is known for his ability to connect generations and cultures. He combines piano with modern sound worlds, orchestral influences, and vocals, and has already performed with international greats such as Andrea Bocelli and Ennio Morricone. With his Reconnection World Tour , Verstappen played in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House . He brings his music to Europe, America, Australia, and New Zealand, and is also touring Japan and South Korea this year.
