The Land Commandery Alden Biesen: more than 800 years of history, with historical buildings and imposing gardens, forms a unique heritage patrimony that has no equal within Flanders.
Let our guides take you on a journey through time. The beautifully restored apartment of the Land Commander immerses you in the atmosphere of yesteryear and lets you dream away to past centuries. Navigate between historical maps and globes in our temporary expo Cartography mapped out. To really get to know Om Alden Biesen, a guided tour is a must.
As an individual visitor, you can join a one-hour guided tour on Saturdays and Sundays. It is the ideal opportunity to view the castle up close and taste the history that lives in this magnificent location. The guide will tell you how the Land Commander lived. You will discover the story that has played out behind these walls.
