A dangerously timely and provocative performance by a new generation
of theatre makers
PART 1
In a country on the brink of civil war, an exclusive and influential
circle gathers for a party. While the streets are on fire, there is amiable
chatting, laughter, and dining. It’s party time!
On one side, a revolution is brewing; on the other, concerns arise
about a membership at an exclusive tennis club. While waiting for the remaining
guests, a hypocritical struggle for status, recognition, and power erupts among
those present. A celebration on the edge of the abyss.
PARTY TIME is a biting satire that asks whether
(political) power always corrupts. Can idealism survive within an economic
system structurally built on self-interest? Within that power, is there also
room for doubt and vulnerability?

Language: In Dutch
PART 2
Following Housewarming, the trio Acke, Bakker and De Graeve
collaborate once again. For their new production, they take Harold Pinter’s
one-act play Party Time (1991) and Giuliano da Empoli’s non-fiction book
The Hour of the Wolves (2025) as a starting point to write a new text.
In doing so, they bridge the gap between classical repertoire and the world of
today.
