Saint-Saëns and Prokofiev on Sunday morning - Osmo Vänskä, Lilja Haatainen

Sun, 17 Jan 2027 · 11:00
Koningin Elisabethzaal, Antwerp
€17–42
De Vijfde symphony is, together with the First, one of the most beloved symphonies of the Russian composer Sergej Prokofjev. It premiered at the end of the Tweede Wereldoorlog and shows a combative, optimistic conductor. In Time Magazine could be read: “This is the best musical event in many years. It is the greatest symphony since Brahms and Tchaikovsky! It is brilliant! It is yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” The concert opens with a true voice of the new generation: the Finnish violinist Lilja Haatainen is just 15 years old and has been performing with the largest orchestras for several years. Today you hear her brilliant sounds in Saint-Saëns’ Introduction et rondo capriccioso. This breakfast concert promises you a powerful start to the day, supplemented with coffee, tea, and a coffee cake. Welcome your Sunday morning with movement and music. You wake up body and mind with a musical yoga session with percussion. Afterward, there is time to enjoy a breakfast, and you descend quietly to the concert hall. Start at 09:15. € 17 with your concert ticket. Add this to your order.
