Brisk: Anglo-Saxon and Breton folk

Brisk is a brand-new quartet of established values that focuses on Anglo-Saxon and Breton music. Not surprising if you know that Gunnar Van Hove (flute & whistles) and Jeroen Knapen (guitar) are part of the group. They played a few years ago as DAOU on the stages of Zilleghem Folk, M’eire Morough, ’t Ey … As a flutist in Moragh, Gunnar got to know the immensely sympathetic Wim Moons. For over 20 years, Wim has been settled in the inland Celtic world. As a singer and bodhran player, he has already stood on domestic and foreign stages with various bands. Naomi Vercauteren is a specialist in Irish fiddle music and completes the picture. She graduated from the conservatory with a final project on bow usage in Irish folk music. She brings not only charm but also top-notch violin work. This band brings a piece of energetic music! Lively & quick, sharp & stimulating! It just sounds Brisk.
