Now that father Willem has stopped singing, son Augustijn continues to sing in West Flemish with ‘full appetite’. He has already shone on the stages of, among others, the Dranouter Festival, Kleinkunstfestival Olen, various July 11 celebrations, Zilleghem Folk, various churches. Augustijn's songs float between pop and kleinkunst, narrative gems taken from life, full of (self-)relativization; his concerts are disarming and touch every audience. He once received wise advice from his father when he asked if he should give the audience what they wanted, or if he should do his own thing: “It is not OR, it is AND!” Black-and-white or color? Repeating yourself or renewing? Subdued or exuberant? Playful or personal? Funny or serious? Giving or taking? Right: it is not OR, it is AND in this performance!
