Two travelers travel through the city with old suitcases full of memories, stories, and strange finds. In 'Scarabée', every suitcase opens a small mechanical universe, where gears start to turn and wonderful insects awaken. A dragonfly dances, a glow-worm plays with light and shadow, a silkworm prepares for her metamorphosis. De Machienerie brings a poetic performance that moves through the city: a traveling love letter to all that small life on six legs. About the company De Machienerie is a theater company and construction workshop that makes poetic visual installations. In Vlaanderen considers the company a pioneer in a playing style in which mechanics, object theater, craft, and imagination strengthen each other. The operation starts strongly from nature, flora, and fauna, and from the conviction that theater can also sensitize through beauty, wonder, and attention. In their workshop, mechanical installations and sculptures are created that are not only looked at, but also really move and come to life. De Machienerie describes itself as a world of bricoleurs poétiques: makers who connect craft, aesthetics, and poetry. Natural and recycled materials, manual manipulation, and technique are given a visible place there.
