Hands make heavenly music! Tijdens Open Monumentendag, instrument maker and musician Justin Glaie brings the sound of the 'Vlaamse Luit' or 'theorbo' back to life. In collaboration with Muziekmuseum Vleeshuis, he recently reconstructed this rare historical instrument. In the atmospheric music room of the Snijders&Rockoxhuis, surrounded by a unique collection of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century instruments from Muziekmuseum Vleeshuis, you will enjoy this special musical moment. This way you will discover that both the historical instruments and their contemporary reconstructions are in good hands here, literally and figuratively. Accessibility: Via a disabled lift and a regular visitor lift, you reach the museum room where this small concert takes place.
