Kidicall Mass

On Sunday, September 6, not coincidentally at the beginning of the new school year, we are drawing attention to our youngest cyclists with a 'kidical mass' bike ride. We note that cities and municipalities are meanwhile beginning to recognize the importance of safe cycling infrastructure. Wegen en verkeer Vlaanderen, on the other hand, continues to find bicycle traffic more of a burden and continues to find the flow of motorized traffic more important than traffic safety. But children also cycle on these roads, the so-called regional roads. To make policymakers aware of this, we are organizing a bike ride along regional roads in Deinze. You can then experience for yourself how dangerous it is to cycle there. We start at 11 AM at the Sint-Poppoplein, cycle to the Congoplein to follow the regional roads from there past the police station and fire department (Stadionlaan), to the roundabout at the church of Petegem (Tweebruggenlaan) and further via the Volhardingslaan to the Driespoort, then via the Statieplein to the Guido Gezellelaan to then end back at Sint-Poppoplein via the Kalkhofstraat and the Leiedam. A fun bike ride for small children of about 5.3 km under the guidance of a support vehicle from Gezinsbond Deinze. Everyone welcome!
