EVENING WALK IN SEARCH OF THE NIGHTJAR - DE TEUT ZONHOVEN

SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 2026: EVENING WALK - DE TEUT The evening before the longest day of the year, we go in search of the Nightjar in the Vlaams Natuurreservaat de Teut in Zonhoven. The evening walk starts at 6 PM, we first take a walk through the Teut, a heathland area with a mosaic of wet, peaty, and dry heath and numerous pools in Central Limburg. Bird species such as Woodlark, Boompieper of Roodborsttapuit might cross our path. We can also enjoy various blooming typical plants of our Flemish heath such as Bog Asphodel and Cross-leaved Heath. Afterward, we go for a drink at the Holsteenbron campsite and wait for dusk. Around 10 PM, we head back out in search of the Nightjar. Praktisch Afspraak: at 6:00 PM parking Rendierjagerssite located at Holsteenweg 49 (50 997685, 5 421881) near the entrance of campsite Holsteenbron. Possibly, people can also join the second part of this evening walk at 9:30 PM at the terrace of Camping Holsteenbron.
