Jazz concert in the context of Remembering Juul. Kurt Rosenwinkel has redefined the modern jazz guitar with his lyrical voice, bold harmonies, and unmistakable tone. His music transcends genres and combines jazz, rock, ambient, and classical into something entirely his own. With more than 15 acclaimed albums as a leader - including The Next Step, Deep Song and Star of Jupiter - Kurt has inspired generations of musicians around the world. On stage, from intimate clubs to the world's largest festivals, Kurt's performances are unforgettable: emotional, brilliant, and full of possibilities. The album ‘The Remedy (Live at the Village Vanguard)’, released on Word of Mouth Music, made a big impression in 2008 with its fearless interplay, soaring melodies, and bold spirit of improvisation, and captured a rare moment where profound lyricism combined with unbridled exploration and helped shape the sound of a generation. For the first time in nearly two decades, this music is being brought to life on stage by Kurt Rosenwinkel, Seamus Blake, Aaron Goldberg, Joe Martin and Kendrick Scott. They honor the heritage while simultaneously exploring new paths. Four of the five musicians have been to Heist-op-den-Berg before. For example, the young Kurt Rosenwinkel played one of his first Belgian performances in 1997 at the Hnita-Hoeve alongside percussionist Paul Motian. Aaron Goldberg was previously a guest at CC Zwaneberg in the context of Remembering Juul, in 2017.
