Village Walk Rijkhoven

Dorpswandeling Rijkhoven on Thursday, July 16, led by Rudi. Departure at the parking lot of Alden Biesen 7:30 PM (parking nearby) Rijkhoven is known throughout the continent because of the Landcommanderij Alden Biesen. Yet also in the immediate vicinity of the castle, there is a lot of village history to tell. We walk past the old cemetery, the place where the linden tree stood, the farm with the strongest bull in the village, the hollow roads where the shark teeth and fossils are there for the taking, the vineyard of the castle, the Apostle House, etc. Close to the typical standard orchard, we can finish in the local tavern…
