St. Paul & The Broken Bones are the powerhouse soul ensemble around the bank clerk Paul Janeway, who retrained as a vocal tornado. Together with Jesse Phillips (bass), Browan Lollar (guitar), Kevin Leon (drums), Al Gamble (keyboards), Allen Branstetter (trumpet), Chad Fisher (trombone), and Amari Ansari (saxophone), Paul formed the band in 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama.
The band broke through with their NPR Tiny Desk Concert in 2014. Met St. Paul as a contemporary Otis Redding who sings the stars out of the sky from a desk in the lead role, the video reached a staggering 10 million views on Youtube. Their mix of rock & roll, soul, and vintage R&B brought St. Paul & The Broken Bones to the stages of the biggest festivals in the world. In addition, they shared the stage with, among others, The Rolling Stones, Lizzo, and Black Pumas. Ook Elton John is a fan and invited them to play at his Oscars party.
After performances at Best Kept Secret, in Ghent, and in Het Depot, St. Paul & The Broken Bones brings their rousing live show to Bruges for the first time, not to be missed for fans of Alabama Shakes, Nathanial Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and Black Pumas!
