Encircling The Vision

Encircling the Vision embraces the luminous universe of Hildegard von Bingen, where sound and image merge in contemplation. Voice, cello, and electronics weave a sonic and visual ritual: a journey in which music, gesture, and space merge in listening and revealing. Live improvisation, breath, and spontaneous gestures evoke mystical experiences, while Karen Tanaka’s Song of Songs reflects longing and silence. A church is a gateway to memory, where departed voices still echo. Here you meet your own voice, searching for answers in silence. The project celebrates female composers – both the well-known and the invisible, whose music now resonates in this space. Sound becomes a bridge between worlds, an echo that transforms silence into revelation. Light and transparent fabrics spread sound like halos, blurring the boundary between performer and space.
