Mantika is a new trio with a young professional, a professional-to-be, and a teacher, who each bring their own background and sound world. From a shared passion for chamber music, they seek fine ensemble playing, expressiveness, and a fresh interpretation of the repertoire. They bring classical and new work: Antonio Vivaldi, Astor Piazzolla, Ludovico Einaudi, Viktor Gridin, Max Richter, Marcin Galazyn and Mykolayiv Majusiak.
Lieke op ’t Roodt studied accordion at the Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg and at the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven where she obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She has performed in recent years with various international ensembles and teaches at various music schools.
Arlan Theuns is a young accordionist. What started as fun grew into a strong passion for the instrument. He feels at home in a broad repertoire, ranging from Balkan and French music to classical. He studies at the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven.
Jef De Haes followed lessons with Frans Kaers in Lier and then with Eddy Flecijn in Leuven and Philippe Thuriot in Gent, where he graduated with the highest distinction. He participated in international competitions and followed masterclasses with well-known accordion greats. He teaches at the academies of Lier and Tienen and is a guest professor at the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven.
