125th anniversary of the Pontifical Zouaves

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., the Société Royale of the Zouaves Pontificaux is organizing an anniversary day on the occasion of its 125 years of existence. On this occasion, a folkloric procession will be organized in the city of Thuin, bringing together between 250 and 850 marchers, as well as several invited folkloric groups. This festive day will notably include: the blessing of the company's new flag; the participation of Thudinienne companies and delegations of invited marches; a procession in the streets of the city; a festive evening reserved for participants at the Sacred Heart. Depending on weather conditions, the blessing of the flag will take place either at the Calvary of the wood of Grand Bon Dieu, or at the Notre-Dame Delvaux church. The supervision of the procession will be provided by the organization in order to guarantee the safety of participants and road users. A beautiful day of traditions and folklore to celebrate the 125 years of history of the Zouaves Pontificaux.
