On the bank of a turbulent river stands a small red brick factory. In the dry pasta department works a girl with flour in her hair. In the sauce department works a boy who knows the secret recipe for the tastiest tomato sauce. One day they run into each other. A few years later, they long for a child.
Wanda and Roel go through a fertility treatment in a hospital without a lab. That is why Roel has to take 'the harvested eggs' (follicles) to the lab in his own car. But on the way, he gets stuck with an empty tank in the Craeybeckx tunnel. He decides to run to the lab with the fertile cargo.
Tunnelkind is a location performance in which an unbelievable fertility journey is interwoven with a truthful fairy tale. An emotional, humorous performance about the importance of sauce and a grain of salt. With ingredients: swirling flour, a pasta machine, tomatoes, the scent of basil, and a song.
