LIGO WITH STEFAN PERCEVAL

A performance where walls disappear and hearts open. In ‘Vredebouwers’ Dutch speakers and newcomers share the stage. Where words sometimes fall short or the language is still strange, emotion speaks. This is theater in its purest form: honest and hopeful. It reminds us that, despite our different backgrounds, we are all building on that same need: a place of peace and homecoming. Let yourself be carried away by the voices of the city. In the shadow of the Wall, these Peacebuilders show that the most beautiful constructions are not made of stone, but of people. On stage are no actors reciting a learned script. The players are the architects of the piece. ‘Vredebouwers’ is the result of a collaboration between CC De Abdij, Ligo Zuid-East Flanders, and Stefan Perceval of HETGEVOLG. For four months, students make theater together. They use their own lives as a foundation. From this exchange of cultures, languages, habits, and movements, they mold a world of Peacebuilders (with a capital P). The result on stage is recognizable to everyone, whatever your age, culture, or background may be. Feel the power of art.
