Walking on the border of occupied territory: Zondereigen - Death Wire

Zondereigen is the only part of Baarle-Hertog that lies entirely within the national borders. Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog, the border with neutral Netherlands was fenced off over 300 km with a deadly electric barrier. Het Dodendraadwandelpad leads you to the wire reconstruction with original parts and the (reconstructed) Schalthaus. Fixed meeting point at park Luithagenlaan or - after consultation, on-site around 2:30 p.m. Participation is free; own transport or cost-sharing passenger (at 10 ct/km).
