Saturday, July 11: 12:00 – 14:00 Departure and arrival at DOP The travelers of Chaucer (The Canterbury Tales) - Hearts of Women (Lede) STORYTELLING Everyone knows the Canterbury Tales by name, but that's usually where it stops. We each bring a story from The Canterbury Tales: Veronique tells the story of the Wife of Bath about a miraculous old woman. Hilde tells the story of the doctor about grief too great for tears. Written at the end of the fourteenth century, but more current than ever. Author: Geoffrey Chaucer Bewerking: Veronique D’Hauwe and Hilde Melckenbeeck Spel: Veronique D’Hauwe and Hilde Melckenbeeck Coaching: Peggy Carael and Hendrik De Vos De Dikke Thief - Zoa Smets (Balen) TEXT THEATER - From 8 years old A man, physically arrested, but deep inside still free. In a gripping mix of interrogation, memory, and madness, he drags us into his world. A world in which he is not a maniac, but strives for perfection. Where mirrors speak and hearts are stolen. De Dikke Dief is a physical, dark, and confrontational solo about loneliness, superiority, and the thin line between human and monster. Direction and acting: Zoa Smets Soundscape: Mira Grolus De backpack - Lente, Jonathan and Dorien (Ghent) CIRCUS We all carry a backpack with us; invisible to the outside world, but palpable to ourselves. Sometimes it is heavy or feels like a weight around our neck. But anyone who dares to really look at this backpack also discovers the beautiful side of it. Acting and acrobatics: Lente Pockelé, Jonathan Houck Viool: Dorien Van de Wouwer Bekijk you like this performance, but is the walk itself not possible for you?
