Old Salt

Old Salt is an international Americana band based in Ghent. The group drew inspiration from the streets of New Orleans and the folk music of the Appalachians and mixes these with the traditions of the old mother continent. Whether it concerns a street performance or a large stage: Old Salt guarantees an American-European folk sound with grit, dynamics, and spontaneity. Since 2015, the group has traveled a remarkable path with concerts in Belgium in Dranouter and the Stadsschouwburg van Brugge and released 2 albums, ‘Up River Overseas’ (2016) and Commons' (2019). Since 2021, Old Salt has played exclusively as a quartet, where the core trio around Dan Wall, Johannes Wannyn and Lotte Remmen is supplemented for this concert by double bassist Tomás Peralta.
