ZEID HAMDAN + AZADI

Zeid Hamdan was once named by CNN as one of the most influential contemporary Lebanese artists. He is the mastermind behind some of the most interesting indie bands of the past twenty years and has collaborated with numerous leading Lebanese and international artists. As a musician, composer, and producer, Zeid Hamdan has shaped and changed the independent music scene in the SWANA region. As a co-founder of the legendary band Soapkills , together with Yasmine Hamdan , he blended trip-hop, dub, and oriental influences into what the (French) press would later call “Oriental trip-hop” . Their albums Cheftak (2002) and Enta Fen (2005) left their mark on an entire generation. Among his most striking collaborations are projects with Maryam Saleh , Maii Waleed , Selin Sümbültepe , Lynn Adib ( Bedouin Burger) and Mabel Matiz. In 2025, he was the musical director of a creation for Printemps de Bourge s , in honor of Oum Kalthoum , where he invited various internationally renowned artists to bring this ambitious repertoire to life. As a visionary and multidimensional artist, Zeid Hamdan continues to influence and stir the international music scene in 2026 with new studio work and new live performances.
