Church organ event & free playing of the organ by organ students and amateur organists

Friends of the Zwalm villages vzw De Vrienden of the Zwalm villages are organizing a two-day organ event on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026 (Heritage Day) in the All Saints Church in Nederzwalm. ORGAN EVENT on Saturday, September 12, 2026 On Saturday afternoon, we will once again put the Zwalm organ heritage in the spotlight with a DEBATE, an ORGAN PERFORMANCE with singing and dance, and a EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION with live organ accompaniment. All this around a compelling story about the Italian anarchist Francesco, the later Franciscus van Assisi, medieval hippies, a noble lady, a sun hymn, and much more. Storytelling with lots of sound and image where the organ playing takes center stage, about spirituality and true friendship. Bet you've never heard or seen a church organ played like this in a contemporary setting? CALL FOR FREE PLAYING OF CHURCH ORGAN Organ students and enthusiasts who want to play the unique Haelvoet organ (1855) in the All-Heiligenkerk van Nederzwalm-Hermelgem can reserve a 30-minute time slot: Saturday, September 12 between 09:00 and 14:30.
