π Flutter along in the dark! π π Sunday, August 23, 2026 β 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM This month we are heading out to discover the mysterious world of bats. Don't worry β they won't fly into your hair, but they will gracefully fly through the evening sky! π¦ Hats are not necessary, because these nocturnal animals prefer to be insect eaters rather than hair flyers. π Armed with a bat detector , we will go in search of the flying acrobats of the twilight. As the sun slowly sets, our guides will take you on an evening walk through the beautiful Gentbrugse Meersen. Along the way, you will discover how bats live, where they sleep, and why August is such a special month for them β the young are standing on their own wings and the mating season is approaching! We will also visit their winter residence in the ice cellar β a real chill spot for bats! βοΈ And with a little luck, we will see (or hear!) different species fluttering by in the twilight. π§π§ Children are very welcome β especially if they dare to whisper: βI hear one!β π When: Sunday, August 23, 2026 β 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM π Departure: Klimaatloods Natuurpunt Gentbrugge: located at the intersection of the bicycle/walking path Weverbosdreef and the Houw Put on your walking shoes, charge your curiosity, and let yourself be enchanted by the night β the bats are waiting for you! πβ¨
