Bounce Big Band has been active in Merchtem and the surrounding area for 10 years, with something for everyone in their repertoire. In addition to its annual Bounce Night, this big band also organizes various competitions and big band festivals. Brace yourself for a journey through time of big band music! Whether it's swing, jazz, funk, pop, disco, latin, slows, or other genres, they bring it with enthusiasm and passion! Van Glenn Miller to Gordon Goodwin, from swing to funk – it will be an evening full of energy and irresistible music! And perhaps it will inspire someone in Wemmel to breathe new life into the brass band or harmony orchestra? In this concert, Bounce Big Band takes you back to the early 1900s, the early start of jazz bands that began playing in larger formations. Through the 20s to the 50s, you will experience the heyday of the great bands of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and other greats. This is followed by the development towards more contemporary arrangements along Stan Kenton and Gordon Goodwin, not to mention arrangements of their own hand. In short: the big band genre is still very much alive today!
