ĠENN

ĠENN is a sisterhood! The four members of the band from Brighton have Maltese, British, Jamaican and Portuguese roots. Janelle Borg (guitar), Sofia Rosa Cooper (drums), Leona Farrugia (vocals) and Leanne Zammit (bass) debuted in 2023 with ‘unum’. The record is an adventurous journey through experimental rock, post-punk and Mediterranean folk and garnered praise from, among others, BBC6, KEXP, Pitchfork and The Independent. ĠENN was already allowed on the road in the wake of Metz, Deadletter and Jehnny Beth and made remarkable appearances at, among others, The Great Escape and ESNS. For the most recent single ‘Reverberations’ – which was released in October 2025 - the band worked with producer Johnny Hostile, who previously sat behind the knobs for, among others, Savages.
