Bomenwandeling Gontrode

A quiet 5 km walk along some remarkable trees in the green Gontrode. We pause at trees with charisma at unique, mainly private locations, but a piece of the Aelmoeseneie forest is also walked. At each location, you will be warmly welcomed and made wiser with fine facts about trees, and there is always fun interaction. A live classical music performance here, a poetry moment there, getting to know your tree horoscope, participating in a small creative workshop, having a drink, all that comes your way during the walk. Free start between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM at the church of Gontrode, Geraardsbergse steenweg, where you can pick up a map. The route is also signposted. There is parking at the cemetery, along the Geraardsbergsestw, and at the Gontrode station (700 meters from the church). Regular train connection. The proceeds of the day go entirely to charity: the Berrefonds. The activity is recognized by the municipal council of Merelbeke-Melle as a neighborhood and community-building initiative, and the organization is supported by Merelbeke-Melle.
