He recorded nearly 1,000 songs. Tura was not only a singer, but also a gifted composer. He wrote almost all of his songs himself, often with lyrics by Nelly Byl. His repertoire is remarkably versatile: from cabaret and Dutch-language chansons to cheerful pop, from jazz to gospel, from rock ’n’ roll and country to even rap.
