ODH 2026 - Walk through past and heritage of Schoonderbuken

Centuries ago, Schoonderbuken was deeply hidden in an extensive forest complex. The forests offered not only work and livelihood, but also shelter in troubled times when people could retreat into the entrenchment. From 1134 they belonged to the possessions of the Abdij van Park. Over the centuries this grew into one of her largest domains. During this walk you step as it were inside an open monument. Discover the stories behind the Saint Job Chapel and the manor court, get under the skin of a broom maker and get acquainted with the hard life of the forest keeper.
