INTRO Festival - Kiki Abels

𝍄 June 3, 8:10 p.m. ⚲ De Koer, Meibloemstraat 86, 9000 Ghent Kiki Abels is a songwriter and producer through and through. Her songs are idiosyncratic sound worlds, in which the warm and acoustic is united with cold echoes from the digital reality. The glue is her voice, which comes straight from the gut. Kiki builds up dreamy atmospheres only to subtly tilt them, so that nothing is ever quite what it seems. Live, she forms a five-piece band with musicians: Lissa Staepels (synth, backings), Robbe Embrechts (guitar, electronics), Tuur Geldhof (bass), and Lucas Lammers (drums). Each one a creator themselves with a strong pair of feelers. Kiki herself likes to listen to Saya Gray, Björk, Elliot Smith, AG Cook and Radiohead.
