Step aboard the Orient Express for a musical journey full of style, flair, and celebration. From stately London, the train departs with Purcell and Händel, to steam further via Paris and Vienna to the heart of the Balkans. Along the way sound the dark Danse Macabre van Saint-Saëns, the sparkling Trompetconcerto van Haydn, and the virtuoso Carnaval de Venise van Arban. In the east, fiery folk dances from Croatia, Serbia, and Bulgaria sound again. And as befits a real New Year's concert, the ride ends in grand Viennese style with the irresistible waltzes and polkas of the Strauss dynasty.
