Vlaanderen Feest - Folk festival with Cleymans & Van Geel

Every year, Stad Deinze organizes a Folk Festival in collaboration with the municipal cultural council on the occasion of Vlaanderen Feest! Het Volksfeest will take place this year in the Brielpoort on Friday, July 10, from 7:00 PM . It promises to be an unforgettable evening again! Cleymans & Van Geel are coming back to the Brielpoort. Anyone who was there during their previous visit knows what to expect: an evening full of top atmosphere, big hits, and antics from the best friends Jelle Cleymans and Jonas Van Geel. The evening starts at 8:00 PM with opening act Droge Geroosterde Notses, Cleymans & Van Geel starts at 9:30 PM . In 2020, the friendship duo decided to start writing songs together. What began as a logical extension of their friendship grew into a solid musical journey. In 2021, they reached an even wider audience thanks to their participation in the seventh season of the VTM program 'Liefde voor Muziek', together with, among others, Tourist LeMC, Emma Bale, Geike Arnaert, and Willy Sommers. Their cover of 'En route' (by Tourist LeMC) became a hit and confirmed their place in the Flemish charts. Album after album, they refined their sound: honest, melodic, and steeped in recognizable stories. In their recognizable mix of fresh Dutch-language pop and dreamy melancholy, the best friends deliver another record full of warmth, camaraderie, and philosophical musings. With this fourth album, Jonas and Jelle prove once again that some friendships not only last but only sound richer with the years. Droge Geroosterde Notses, founded in Deinze around singer/guitarist Hannes Careel , provides the opening act. Expect fresh Dutch pop with a cheeky wink. Food and drink stands by Deinze associations During this event, various Deinze associations will offer visitors all kinds of goodies; fruit juices, wines, special beers, desserts (pastries, cake), hot dogs, Breydel ham sandwiches, croque monsieurs...
