On the first Saturday of AMOK, the Rode Kruis reception center Bruges opens its doors for a special morning of meeting and music.
10:00 Guided tour (optional)
Those who wish can participate in a guided tour of the reception center prior to the concert. You get a unique look into the daily life and the operation of this special place.
Behind the facade of Vlamingstraat 55 in Bruges, the reception center of the Rode Kruis has been offering a temporary home to applicants for international protection since 1992. Today, about sixty people live there, each with their own story, dreams, and hope for a new beginning.
Care takes many forms here every day: a listening ear, a helping hand, space for rest and mental well-being. Between stories of hope and resilience, connection also grows – soft, but unmistakable.
11:00 Concert Tomas Casella
Braziliaanse roots, Belgian touch
We would like to invite you to get to know this place and its people better during a special aperitif concert by Tomas Casella. With his music, he creates a moment of meeting, breathing space, and togetherness.
Tomas Casella is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer with his heart in two worlds. His music moves between the jazz harmonies and soul melodies of Europe and the tropical rhythms of Brazil - Baile Funk, Samba, Afoché - and sounds nowhere else than exactly in between.
